Arsenal’s Belgium international winger Leandro Trossard has revealed that the club’s executives decided to make a move for him after the Mykhailo Mudryk saga ended.
The Gunners were initially keen to sign Ukrainian winger Mudryk in the 2023 winter transfer window. But that move was snatched up by London rivals Chelsea for £88.5m.

He said: ‘I think we had a patch in December where we had a couple of games we didn’t win.
‘There we didn’t have the same performances in terms of winning games. We need to just be consistent for the whole season.
‘Every game is a tough one because every team is developing and every squad is developing in the league.
“I had a good chat with Mikel, he told me what was going to happen. And everything started to fall into place straight away.
“Not only my performances on the pitch but also off the pitch. I think the atmosphere off the pitch was great. The team has great players off the pitch, they welcomed me very well.”
